BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Erie County Lawmakers began reviewing the Buffalo Bills 10 year lease agreement with the county.
The deal was reached last month and calls for $130 million in updates to Ralph Wilson Stadium, and includes a $400 million penalty if the team leaves Buffalo before 2023.
As for considering a new stadium, that's still quite a few years away.
"We really will not be considering anything in regard to the life of Ralph Wilson Stadium, or whether a new stadium is needed until the renovations are complete in all likelihood probably year four and five of the upcoming lease," said Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.
The County Legislature will vote on the lease January 24th before it goes to the NFL for final approval.
