Scottsdale, AZ (Sports Network) - The Colorado Rockies have acquired infielder
Reid Brignac from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for cash considerations and a
player to be named later.
Brignac batted just .095 in 16 games with the Rays last season. The 27-year-
old spent most of the year with Triple-A Durham, where he hit .231 with eight
homers and 46 RBI in 99 games.
Originally a second-round pick in the 2004 draft, Brignac is a career .227
hitter with 10 homers and 67 RBI in 256 career games with the Rays.
Colorado also placed pitcher Edwar Cabrera on the 60-day disabled list with a
left shoulder impingement.
