Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Steelers safety Troy Polamalu aggravated a
right calf injury on Sunday that caused him to miss the previous two games.
Polamalu hopped off the field during the second quarter against the Eagles and
did not return. The seven-time Pro Bowl selection had not played since the
season opener but had a bye week to recover and was a full participant in
practice leading up to the Week 5 contest.
The Steelers did see the season debuts of linebacker James Harrison and
running back Rashard Mendenhall, but had linebacker Lamarr Woodley go down
with a right hamstring injury on Sunday.
Harrison had not played this season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on
his knee, while Mendenhall is coming off a torn anterior cruciate ligament
suffered in the final game of the 2011 regular season.
