Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Dwyane Wade poured in 29 points and dished out
seven assists to pace Miami to a 110-88 win over Detroit, with the Heat
getting revenge for a loss to the Pistons earlier this season.
LeBron James added 23 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for Miami,
which has won four in a row. Chris Bosh totaled 14 points and seven boards and
Ray Allen chipped in 11 points for the Heat, who shot 55.8 percent from
the field.
Greg Monroe had 31 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Pistons, who have lost
back-to-back contests. Will Bynum scored 13 points for Detroit, which beat
Miami, 109-99, on Dec. 28 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Heat, who moved to 18-3 at home, were behind 31-30 after one quarter as
the Pistons made their final seven shots of the opening period. Miami, though,
got 17 points from Wade in the second quarter. He made 7-of-9 shots in the
period, in which Miami shot 65 percent.
Austin Daye's bank shot moved the Pistons to a 41-32 lead as they opened the
period on an 10-2 burst. Miami answered shortly thereafter with a 20-2 surge,
during which Wade scored 13 points.
A free throw from James with 2:39 left in the half capped the rally and gave
Miami a 54-45 advantage. It led 60-51 at the break.
Miami was up by double digits most of the third quarter and carried an 84-68
advantage into the fourth.
The Pistons never got within single digits in the final period.
