Gainesville, FL (Sports Network) - The Florida Gators have extended the contract of head football coach Will Muschamp for one year, through the 2016 season.

The Gainesville Sun and other media outlets reported the deal on Friday for Muschamp, who was working on a five-year, $13.75 million package.

Florida is coming off a 7-6 season, which included a 24-17 win over Ohio State in the Gator Bowl.
