Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Nick Young came off the bench to score 22
points, including 12 in the final five minutes, and the Philadelphia 76ers
held off the Orlando Magic, 102-95, in preseason action at the Amway Center.
Jrue Holiday went 12-of-14 shooting for 27 points and Thaddeus Young and
Dorell Wright each netted 10. Lavoy Allen had a team-high eight rebounds to go
with six points and Kwame Brown dropped eight points to go with three boards.
Glen Davis had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Hedo Turkogla contributed 13
points for the Magic in defeat. Former Sixer Nikola Vucevic dropped 12 points
and grabbed 10 rebounds against his former team, and Andrew Nicholson
chipped in 14 off the bench.
Holiday got off to a quick start in the first quarter for the Sixers, netting
13 points on 5-of-6 shooting while hitting three shots from beyond the arc.
Orlando fought back from an eight-point deficit halfway through the second
quarter to go into the half trailing 59-58, and took a five point lead with
5:37 left to play in the game.
But Nick Young netted 12 points down the stretch for the Sixers, including a
3-point shot with 43 seconds to play, allowing Philadelphia to edge out
the victory.
