First Lady Michelle Obama is teaming up with national grocery chains in an effort to provide fresh fruit and vegetables in disadvantaged areas.
Poor communities are sometimes called "food deserts" because of a lack of access to produce.
Now several chains -- including Walmart and Walgreens -- say they will open or expand more than 15-hundred stores nationwide in those so-called food deserts of under-served neighborhoods.
Walmart will open as many as 300 stores in such areas by 2016... and Walgreens will expand its inventory in at least 1-thousand stores to include fresh fruit and vegetables.
