Berea, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Browns have named Michael Lombardi
vice president of player personnel.
Lombardi, most recently an analyst with the NFL Network, will join the
Cleveland organization for the second time. He previously served as a scout,
pro personnel director and director of player personnel from 1987 through
1995.
After a stint in the personnel department with the Philadelphia Eagles from
1997-98, Lombardi spent eight seasons with the Oakland Raiders from 1999-2007
before joining the media ranks.
During his brief time in Philadelphia, Lombardi worked with current Browns CEO
Joe Banner.
Lombardi also worked in the front office with the San Francisco 49ers from
1984-86. The 49ers won Super Bowl XIX after the '84 season.
