Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Steelers have ruled out wide
receiver Antonio Brown, tackle Marcus Gilbert, safety Troy Polamalu and
linebacker Stevenson Sylvester for Monday night's game against the Kansas City
Chiefs.
Brown hurt his left ankle during the first quarter of last Sunday's 24-20
victory over the New York Giants.
He leads Pittsburgh with 42 catches this season and has totaled 499 receiving
yards with one touchdown through the first eight games. The third-year pro
posted career highs of 69 receptions and 1,108 yards during a breakout
campaign in 2011.
Polamalu has not played since Week 5 due to a calf injury. Gilbert will miss a
fourth straight outing with an ankle sprain, while Sylvester remains out with
a hamstring injury.
Running back Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) is doubtful, while linebacker Chris
Carter (abdomen) is questionable. Mendenhall will likely miss his fourth
