BUFFALO, N.Y.-Three Section VI teams punched their ticket to the Carrier Dome next weekend for the New York State finals in football.
Randolph and Sweet Home advanced on Friday while Orchard Park picked up their victory on Saturday.
Randolph squeaked by Tioga 7-6 to move on to the Class D final against Tuckahoe, a Section I team. That game will be played on Friday, November 23 at 12 p.m.
Sweet Home came back from 14-0 down to eventually rout Union-Endicott 40-22. They will play in the Class A final against Burnt Hills, a Section II team, on Friday, November 23 at 3 p.m. These two teams met in the finals in 2008 and 2009 with Sweet Home coming out on top in both games.
Orchard Park took down previously unbeaten Christian Brothers Academy 26-14 to continue its quest to repeat as Class AA champions. The Quakers will take on New Rochelle, a Section I team, on Saturday, November 24, at 6 p.m.
