EAST PEMBROKE, NY - The East Pembroke Fire Hall will be out of commission for up to two weeks after a car rammed into one of its doors Thursday afternoon.
The accident happened shortly before 4 p.m. Troopers say the car was headed east on Route 5 when it crossed over into the westbound lane, slammed into a berm and became airborne before striking the firehouse.
The female driver apparently blacked out behind the wheel due to a medical condition. She was taken to ECMC with non-life threatening injuries.
The fire trucks were taken to a towing company nearby where they'll be housed until repairs are made to the station.
