Anthony Robert Taglianetti, II
ALBANY, NY - Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed off in support of extraditing the suspect in the murder of a Southern Tier school superintendent.
Anthony Taglianetti is charged with murder in the death of Clymer Schools Superintendent Keith Reed Jr. Taglianetti was arrested near Shenandoah National Park in Virginia following a nationwide manhunt.
According to Chautauqua County District Attorney Dave Foley, the Governor issued the letter. The next step is for Virginia's Governor to approve the extradition and issue a warrant, which needs to be done for Taglianetti to be sent back to New York State.
If approved, Taglianetti would be arraigned in Clymer Court by the end of December, if not before. The case would then go to a grand jury.
A judge in Prince William County, Virginia has set his next court appearance for Monday, October 29th, but it's unlikely the extradition paperwork will be completed before then.
Legally, prosecutors have 90 days to complete the process. So far, about 30 days have passed.
